Prepare your VPS
- Server
- Choose Ubuntu 24.04 and Latest. The template suggests 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, and 50 GB disk. Choose 8 GB for heavier workloads.
- SSH access
- Use SSH to read the installation README and forward local port 20128. The app binds to 127.0.0.1 by default.
- Provider credentials
- Complete dashboard login and add provider accounts or API keys. Customer accounts, provider quotas, and usage charges are separate.
- Persistent data
- Application data persists on your VPS. Include SQLite data, keys, configuration, and root-only environment files in your backups.
Set up 9Router
- In the LightNode console, select 9Router, Latest, and Ubuntu 24.04. Choose at least 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, and 50 GB disk.
- Await first-boot installation. Check the status and instructions available for your instance.
- Connect through SSH, read the installation README, and follow its tunnel instructions to access local port 20128.
- Log in, add provider connections, and create client API keys. Configure fallback rules before connecting your coding tool.
9Router questions
- 9Router hosts the proxy and dashboard. Your selected providers generate responses. Their account terms, quotas, and API or subscription charges still apply.
- Initial access uses an SSH tunnel to local port 20128. Public access requires your own HTTPS and protected authentication configuration.
- Save persistent application data and root-only environment and credential files. Keep signing secrets stable across restarts. Review the official documentation before a manual upgrade.
Deploy 9Router
Choose 9Router in the application selector and complete server setup.
