Set up your application

- Wait for first-boot installation. Connect by SSH and read the server access guide.
- Open the SSH tunnel and sign in with the privately generated password described in the access guide.
- Connect a data source and build a test dashboard. Review permissions and alert destinations, then plan backups of Grafana's configuration and database.
Questions about this VPS
- First installation selects the current official release channel. A restart keeps the installed version. Back up data and review upstream changes before a manual upgrade.
- Grafana OSS displays and queries data from configured sources. Install or connect a collector such as Prometheus separately. A Grafana Cloud account and paid plugins are not included.
- Restarts retain the installed version and data. Back up configuration, credentials, and persistent data before manual upgrades. A restart does not upgrade the application.
