What you can run

Use one control plane for your application workflow. Application builds and running workloads share your server resources.

Application deployments

Connect supported source projects and manage builds, deployments and rollback workflows.

Domains and services

Configure application domains and supported database services. Certificate setup needs valid DNS and reachable ports.

Dashboard and CLI

Use the web dashboard or commands such as openship status, up and update to manage the instance.

Plan your server

System
Choose Ubuntu 24.04 amd64 for the documented setup.
Starting resources
A suggested starting plan has 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 50 GB storage. This is not an official minimum. Consider 8 GB RAM for higher load and more storage as data grows.
SSH access
Through SSH, read /root/OPENSHIP_INFO.txt and the separate root-only credential file it names. Keep credentials private.
Public access
The dashboard uses port 3001. Configure the public browser origin to match its actual URL, and set up trusted HTTPS for public use.

Start your installation

  1. Select Openship, Latest and Ubuntu 24.04, then choose the suggested resources or a larger plan.
  2. Wait for first-boot installation to finish. Connect through SSH and check the status using /root/OPENSHIP_INFO.txt.
  3. Through SSH, read /root/OPENSHIP_INFO.txt and the separate root-only credential file it names. Keep credentials private.
  4. Complete initial setup, then configure the public domain and backups as needed.

Questions about your VPS

  • The template uses the self-hosted deployment platform at oblien/openship. Its official site is openship.io.
  • The existing template uses v0.8.0 under the Latest label and supports Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04. Check the installed version in /root/OPENSHIP_INFO.txt before an upgrade.
  • Follow /root/OPENSHIP_INFO.txt for customer login and the separate root-only credential handoff. Start on a fresh host, configure the correct public origin, and back up persistent data before manual updates.
