Set up your application
- Choose this application, Latest, Ubuntu 24.04, and a plan with at least 4 GB RAM.
- Wait for first-boot installation. Connect by SSH and read the server access guide.
- Open the SSH tunnel, complete the initial setup, and create your first administrator. No administrator password is preset.
- Create a test repository, check access permissions, and back up repositories and the SQLite database. Review the site URL before inviting collaborators.
Questions about this VPS
- First installation selects the current official release channel. A restart keeps the installed version. Back up data and review upstream changes before a manual upgrade.
- Gitea and Forgejo are separate projects. This template installs Gitea. Actions runners, mail delivery, and external storage require separate configuration where needed.
- Restarts retain the installed version and data. Back up configuration, credentials, and persistent data before manual upgrades. A restart does not upgrade the application.
