What a configured Buzz relay provides

After you configure the relay, compatible clients can use channels, threads and workspace events.

Channels and threads

Keep messages and conversation threads in your workspace. The owner controls relay membership and access for people and agents.

Agent participation

Connect agents through their own identities and supported interfaces. Configure their runtime and provider credentials before asking them to work.

Search and media

Prepare PostgreSQL for events, Redis for live updates and supported S3 storage for media. Preserve Git data alongside them.

Prepare a manual deployment

Server
Choose an ordinary Ubuntu 24.04 amd64 VPS. Start planning with 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 50 GB disk; verify capacity for builds and workloads. Consider 8 GB for heavier use.
SSH access
Configure loopback access on port 3000 through SSH. Keep the optional unauthenticated deployment dashboard disabled.
Owner and providers
Create and protect separate owner and relay identities, configure membership and pair a compatible client. Bring your own agent provider credentials.
Persistent data
Plan persistent PostgreSQL, Redis, S3 media and Git storage. Protect environment files and credentials, and back them up with service data.

Deploy Buzz manually

  1. Buy an ordinary VPS and select Ubuntu 24.04. This page does not offer a Buzz application image.
  2. Read the official Buzz deployment documentation and review the upstream relay release you plan to use.
  3. Prepare supported S3 storage or verified source-built dependencies, plus your own storage, owner, relay and provider credentials.
  4. Configure authentication, membership and private access. Verify the deployment, backups and client pairing before opening public access.

Buzz questions

  • Our validation could not pull the original official MinIO and mc images. Their binary archives returned HTTP 410. Community MinIO is source-only and archived; source builds need verification.
  • The official relay uses S3 for media and Git objects. No supported filesystem fallback was verified. Keep authentication, membership and storage conformance checks enabled.
  • Bring a compatible client, agent runtime and provider accounts; usage fees are separate. The relay alone is not a complete browser chat interface. Latest describes an upstream relay channel, not an available preinstalled image here.
