Tools for your own server

Keep connection settings and access permissions in one self-hosted gateway.

SSH, RDP and VNC

Open supported remote sessions from a web browser. You provide the target computer, its remote service, credentials and a reachable network path.

Users and connection permissions

Create users and assign access to saved connections. A unique administrator replaces the upstream default account before the web service starts.

Persistent connection settings

PostgreSQL stores users, permissions, connection settings and history. The web application and guacd use matching official releases.

Questions about this VPS

  • First installation selects the current official release channel. A restart keeps the installed version. Back up data and review upstream changes before a manual upgrade.
  • Guacamole is a remote-access gateway. It does not install Windows or enable remote services on your computers. You configure each target and its credentials. The internal guacd port 4822 is not published.
  • Keep a consistent PostgreSQL backup with the private configuration, secrets and image records. Connection credentials in the database and backups are sensitive. Normal restarts retain the installed releases and saved settings.
