- Use an SSH tunnel to localhost:3000. Configure your domain and HTTPS before public access.

- VPS, domain and model-provider charges are separate. Provider API credits are not included. Keep upstream branding and follow the Open WebUI License.
Set up your application
- Choose this application, Latest, Ubuntu 24.04, and a plan with at least 4 GB RAM.
- Wait for first-boot installation. Connect by SSH and read the server access guide.
- Open the SSH tunnel and create your administrator account in the browser. There is no preset application password.
- Connect your model provider, check access permissions and make a backup. Add a domain and HTTPS when you need public access.
Questions about this VPS
- First installation resolves the newest official stable release and records the exact image. Upstream main and latest image tags follow rolling development builds. A restart preserves the installed version and data; upgrades are deliberate.
- No. This template installs Open WebUI without Ollama or language-model weights. Remote model APIs do not require a GPU on this VPS. Local models and document-processing assets need separate setup and resources.
- Restarts retain the installed version and data. Back up configuration, credentials, and persistent data before manual upgrades. A restart does not upgrade the application.
