- In a virtual private server (VPS), "core" refers to the number of processing units, or central processing units (cpus), assigned to a virtual server instance.
- If you plan to run any CPU-intensive scripts, it will put a lot of pressure on the single-core CPU and cause the site to run slowly for the end user. So we recommend starting with at least two cores. Buy VPS
- With 8 Vcpus, you can get up to 8 physical cores (albeit shared with another user). Because on a non-hyperthreaded machine, 1 vCPU = 1 core. Typically, when you get a vCPU on a hyperthreaded machine, each vCPU is located on a separate core. You can get at least 8 threads on 4 physical cores.
- A VM supports a maximum of 128 virtual CPU slots. If the VM has more than 128 virtual cpus, use multi-core virtual cpus.
- It is best not to use more than 1 to 4 Vcpus per VM, unless the application running on the virtual server requires more Vcpus, or unless the developer needs them.
- The number of cores is critical for streaming and gaming. Popular games require a large number of cores to achieve optimal performance. Overall, an octa-core CPU is sufficient for most users.
